HR Technology Specialist
Job Summary: The HR Technology Specialist is a critical contributor to our Human Resources team, dedicated to optimizing, maintaining, and supporting our comprehensive HR technology ecosystem. This role serves as a key liaison between HR operational needs and technical solutions, ensuring the efficient, secure, and strategic utilization of HR systems to enhance employee experience and achieve organizational goals. The specialist will be instrumental in system implementation, data integrity, process automation, reporting, and providing expert support for various HR applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- HRIS Management & Optimization:
- Administer, configure, and maintain the organization's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), including [mention specific systems if known, e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, ADP Workforce Now, UKG Pro, BambooHR].
- Ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of HR data across all systems, conducting regular data audits, validating information, and troubleshooting discrepancies.
- Identify, recommend, and implement technological solutions to streamline and automate HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, time & attendance, performance management, and talent development.
- Manage system upgrades, new module deployments, and patches, including comprehensive testing, meticulous documentation, and effective communication to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain data integrations between HRIS and other business systems (e.g., finance, IT, learning management systems).
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Design, develop, and generate standard and ad-hoc HR reports, metrics, and dashboards to provide actionable insights into workforce trends, talent analytics, and HR program effectiveness.
- Support HR and business leaders with data-driven analysis to inform strategic decision-making related to workforce planning, compensation, diversity & inclusion, and employee engagement.
- Ensure all reporting and data handling adheres to relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR if applicable, state-specific privacy laws).
- Technical Support & Training:
- Provide expert-level technical support to HR business partners and employees for HR system-related inquiries, issues, and enhancements.
- Develop and deliver engaging training programs, user guides, and documentation to empower HR users and employees to maximize their utilization of HR technology.
- Act as a subject matter expert for HR systems, providing guidance and best practices.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with HR functional leads (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Payroll) to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Collaborate with the IT department on system security, infrastructure, integrations, and broader organizational technology initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external HR technology vendors, evaluating new solutions and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Project Leadership & Contribution:
- Lead or actively participate in HR technology projects from initiation to post-implementation review, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the HR technology roadmap, staying current with emerging HR tech trends, innovations (e.g., AI in HR), and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum [3-5]+ years of progressive experience in HRIS administration, HR technology, or a similar analytical role.
- Demonstrated success in HRIS implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
- Direct experience with major HRIS platforms such as UKG Pro, or similar enterprise-level systems is highly preferred.
- Experience with data integration concepts and tools.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in HRIS administration, including security roles, business processes/workflows, and reporting frameworks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, data modeling).
- Experience with reporting tools and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a significant plus.
- Solid understanding of data privacy principles and regulations.
- Familiarity with integration methods (e.g., APIs, SFTP) and data mapping concepts.
- HR Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of core HR functional areas, including payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and employee lifecycle management.
- Ability to translate complex HR business requirements into clear and concise technical specifications.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
